The Commonwealth Environmental Protection Act (Public Law 3-23) was enacted by the Legislature in 1982 to establish and enforce environmental standards, to protect and preserve the natural resources of the Commonwealth and the right of each person to a clean and healthful public environment, as guaranteed by Section 9 of Article 1 of the Constitution.
